Mayor JV Ejercito of San Juan

If Mayor Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito of San Juan City decides to do a Mikey Arroyo and give up his planned bid to the House of Representatives in 2010, it is not because he is assuming the role of the dutiful son. He would yield to his father, former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada, to run for congress because it would be “for the greater good.”

“The aim is to thwart any plans of GMA to stay in power by becoming prime minister if her allies succeed in a constituent assembly; and since my father still commands tremendous support from the masses, I would willingly sacrifice myself for the opposition and for the people,” he told The Manila Times in an exclusive interview.
