Bangko Sentral rules out deflation in the near term

THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said inflation would remain
low this month, but ruled out a slide into deflation.
BSP Deputy Governor Diwa Guinigundo said
inflation might bottom out in August but not to the extent of
turning negative.
