One unwritten but crucial prerequisite to
success in business is that you’ve got to love what you’re
doing. This is the rule that Edmund Ongsiako, Dan Mercado and Dindo
de Jesus followed when they put up Masters in Defense and Knives (MDK),
a unique shop catering to the needs of combat survivalists and
martial artists. Besides being established businessmen, the common
thread among three men is that they are all practitioners of the
Israeli combat system of krav maga.
“It all started when we saw the potential of
distributing a special kind of watch used by the United States
Special Forces,” narrates de Jesus, “Because of MDK the
Philippines is now the fifth country in Asia to distribute this kind
of watch.
