Santiago retracts bribe raps

But Maj. Marcelino firm on P50-million payoff

United they stood, divided they fell.Such was the unlikely ending to the case featuring two of the country’s top anti-narcotics officials who had blown the whistle against officials and prosecutors of the Department of Justice on an alleged multimillion bribe offer in exchange for the release of the “Alabang Boys.”

Hearsay was all that Director General Dionisio Santiago, the chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), banked on in making his allegation of bribe-taking by the Justice department officials and prosecutors.
