Kidnappers free one hostage in Basilan

Authorities say Ahmad Ilang is being debriefed while fate of the remaining hostage is still unknown

ZAMBOANGA CITY: Rebels have freed Friday one of two employees of a lending firm they kidnapped in Basilan, south of Zamboanga City, officials said.

Reports showed that Ahmad Ilang was recovered by soldiers who were tracking down the kidnapers near the hinterland village of Upper Mahayhay in Maluso town. The fate of the remaining captive, Leah Patrice, is still unknown.
