Crisis seen favoring country’s SEA bid

The present global economic crisis may benefit the Philippines in its bid to regain the overall crown in the 25th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in December in Laos.

SEA Games chef de mission Mario Tanchangco on Friday said that Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, the top three finishers in the 2007 SEA Games, would be greatly affected by the current financial meltdown citing an article from the February 2, 2009 issue of the Newsweek magazine.
