The Filipinos—well, those of us who still care—begin to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolt today. The organizers of this year’s commemoration divided it into four days of remembrances of things past. Each day is devoted to honoring what they suppose are the principal movers of that overthrow of the Marcos dictatorship.

The organizers are the EDSA People Power Commission, an agency under the Office of the President, and the Spirit of EDSA Foundation. The Department of Education and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) are foremost contributors. As well, of course, as the Philippine military brass.
