DOJ hurting anti-drug drive

Criticism vs. PDEA sends wrong signal

The government’s campaign against illegal drugs has met a “saboteur” in Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, a lawmaker charged on Thursday.

Gonzalez, “wittingly or unwittingly, is sabotaging operations of PDEA by publicly declaring that Marcelino’s act was not valid,” Rep. Roilo Golez of Parañaque City (Metro Manila) said in a text message to reporters, referring to Marine Maj. Ferdinand Marcelino of the Special Enforcement Services of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
