The Philippines agricultural sector grew just 3.9 percent in 2008
due to the high cost of petroleum-based fertilizer as crude costs
soared at the start of the year, a report said Friday.
The fallout from the high price
of oil was felt in the final quarter of the year, when output growth
eased to 3.2 percent, compared with 5.4 percent in the same period
in 2007.
