Youth games eyed to find new talents

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Jose “Peping” Cojuangco announced on Friday the formation of the Philippine Youth Festival (PYF), a merger of the Philippine Olympic Festival and the Batang Pinoy, as a medium to develop the skills of the youth and tap new talents who will become future members of the national team.

“We need to address the youth. We have to review programs related to their development since they are the future athletes of this country,” said Cojuangco in a weekly sports forum. He received a fresh four-year mandate as POC head after defeating Art Macapagal of shooting in a tight race for the presidency in November.
