‘Extortion’ leads to indicment |

Ombudsman finds probable cause to file charges
against DENR official
|

THE Office of the Ombudsman on Tuesday indicted before the
Sandiganbayan for graft charges the Chief of the Provincial
Environment and Natural Resources Office of the Department of
Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-PENRO) in Mati City, Davao
Oriental for extorting money from a businessman in the said
province.
In a two-page information, Ombudsman Maria
Merceditas Navarro-Gutierrez ordered the filing of violation of
Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act
against Gilbert Pajo.
