US troops not involved in rescue operations

Task Force ICRC steps up efforts in Sulu while Ambassador Kenny says they would help if Malacañang would ask for it  

 
THE United States troops that are currently in Mindanao are not in anyway involved in military operations including the ongoing efforts to rescue the three members of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) abducted by suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf Group on January 15.

Armed Forces chief Alexander Yano maintained that the military has been strictly complying with the policy that no foreign troops are allowed to get involved in any military operations.
