The Senate ratified in a rare
Thursday session the bicameral conference committee report on the
2009 national budget that is only P300 million less than the P1.415
trillion recommended
by Malacaņang.
Senate President Juan Ponce
Enrile noted that the ratification came on the very first week of
session after the Christmas break. It was one of the fastest and
earliest ratification of the budget report in years.
The Senate, on orders of Senate
President Juan Ponce Enrile, shelved Thursday the consideration of
any House Bill seeking to create new legislative districts.
