The most effective workouts don’t need fancy gadgets

On home television shopping networks they market all sorts of devices to give you “washboards abs,” “six-packs” and “sex cuts”—colloquial for lean and defined abdominal muscles. People want to showoff a svelte and firm tummy and they are willing to pay for it.

But according to scientists, the most effective and least injury-prone abdominal exercises need no fancy devices.
