The Department of Health (DOH) on
Tuesday announced that the number of confirmed A(H1N1) cases in the
country has reached 1,709.
The tally covered the period of
May up to June 27 only. Since then, the number of swine flu cases in
the country has more than doubled from 861 a week ago. The
government had reported only 727 cases as of June 25.
A total of 224 patients are still
being treated but 86 percent of confirmed cases or 1,485 have
recovered, Health Secretary Francisco Duque 3rd told a news
conference.
