Fresh troops  sent to Jolo to rescue Vagni

Fresh troops and more hardware are being sent to Jolo to augment or replace soldiers fighting the Abu Sayyaf Group holding an Italian Red Cross worker as hostage, the military said Saturday.

The AFP has started sending to Jolo  a battle-tested marine battalion from Palawan and five additional navy patrol vessels to support soldiers trying to rescue hostage Eugenio Vagni.
