‘Erap’ can file candidacy

But filing does not address constitutional issue


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will allow former President Joseph Estrada to file his candidacy, if he decides to make another bid for Malacañang in 2010, Commissioner Rene Sarmiento said Tuesday.

But accepting the filing of candidacy should not be interpreted as a ruling on constitutional question regarding Estrada’s eligibility to run, added Sarmiento during a hearing of the House committee on oversight.
