June budget deficit seen lower on key agencies’ under-spending

THE Philippines’ fiscal position improved last month, but at the expense of key spending needed to prop up the economy, according to a Department of Finance (DOF) official.

“Better than program ang deficit,” Finance Undersecretary Gil Beltran said.
