‘Tugis’ raid leads to 11-year-old girl’s death 

Mayor Sema of Cotabato City says the military opened fire without warning; two others were wounded

COTABATO CITY: The Army’s Joint Task Force Tugis on Sunday raided an alleged hideout of suspected terrorists implicated in the July 5 bombing near the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. The said raid at dawn led to the death of an 11-year-old girl and wounding of two others.

Mayor Muslimin Sema of Cotabato City, chairman of the city peace and order council, said the child, a grade five pupil of the Muammad Elementary School at the nearby Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, and members of her family were sleeping in their shanty when the military men arrived and, immediately opened fire without warning.
