CONSUMER relief from unsolicited text messages may not be forthcoming in the near term after companies that earn their keep from push messages separately filed petitions seeking to halt a regulatory ban.

These companies filed two separate petitions before the Pasig Regional Trial Court and the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, seeking a 20-day temporary restraining order (TRO), while they deliberate on the merits of a judicial restraint on the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
