DESPITE his team’s debacle in the 31st Jones
Cup, Powerade-Team Pilipinas head coach Yeng Guiao said he has still
a lot of faith that the nationals will excel better in the 25th FIBA-Asia
Men’s Championship from August 6 to 16 in Tianjin, China.
Guiao, also the head coach of Burger King in the
professional league, said the Jones Cup, where they finished with a
low 2-6 win-loss slate, was a good learning experience for the
Filipino cagers, who are hoping to improve on the country’s ninth
place finish in the 2007 FIBA-Asia tourney in Tokushima, Japan.
