Guiao still optimistic about FIBA-Asia stint

DESPITE his team’s debacle in the 31st Jones Cup, Powerade-Team Pilipinas head coach Yeng Guiao said he has still a lot of faith that the nationals will excel better in the 25th FIBA-Asia Men’s Championship from August 6 to 16 in Tianjin, China.

Guiao, also the head coach of Burger King in the professional league, said the Jones Cup, where they finished with a low 2-6 win-loss slate, was a good learning experience for the Filipino cagers, who are hoping to improve on the country’s ninth place finish in the 2007 FIBA-Asia tourney in Tokushima, Japan.
