Amit escapes foes to reach 10-ball final

Veteran Rubilen Amit hurdled past Akimi Kajitani of Japan, 9-6, to reach the final and move a step closer to winning the 2009 Women’s World 10-Ball Championship Saturday at the SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

The 27-year-old top Filipina cue artist engaged the higher ranked Japanese in a nip-and-tuck battle before pulling through to the delight of close to a thousand partisan crowd all hoping to see another countryman on top of the world.
