Abu Sayyaf frees female hostage in Basilan 

Filipina was probably released because of intense pressure from police, military operations

ZAMBOANGA: Islamic militants on Sunday freed a Filipina hostage after more than four months in captivity on Basilan island, police said.
 
A villager at around 3.30 a.m. Sunday found Leah Patris walking by herself near the village of Lower Benengbengan in the town of Sumisip, a provincial police chief said. Patris is an employee of a local micro-finance company.
