Brownouts to hit Camanava, portions of QC

Brownouts are scheduled to hit a large swath of Manila Electric Co.’s (Meralco) northern franchise area today because of repair works at a power transmission facility in Bulacan.

Meralco will implement a manual load dropping schedule to keep up with electricity demand in its franchise area while it replaces one of the transformers of National Grid Corp. of the Philippines’ (NGCP) San Jose substation, said Nixon Hao, Meralco vice president and head of energy management.
