Govt to cut growth target

Global crisis blamed for below 2.5% projection

Economic managers, pointing to the global economic crisis, are set to cut today the economic growth target this year to below 2.5 percent.

A source from the Development Budget and Coordinating Committee (DBCC) on Tuesday said that the economic managers were forced to revise the gross domestic product (GDP) target for 2009 because of the worse-than-expected first-quarter results.
