GMA steps into ‘load’ loss

NTC summons telcos after Palace order

Alarmed by reports on disappearing cellular-phone loads, President Gloria Arroyo through the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) summoned telecommunication companies on Wednesday to resolve rising consumer complaints on the loss of such loads.

Jaime Fortes Jr., deputy commissioner of NTC, said the regulator met with the telecommunication companies, or telcos, in a bid to come up with measures that would address the complaints not only on the vanishing loads but also text spams and dropped calls.
