Japan earmarks P340 million for Mindanao peace projects

The Japanese government has allocated P340.2 million to finance its Non-Project Grant Assistance-Countervalue Fund (NPGA-CVF) projects in conflict-stricken Mindanao, the Japanese Embassy in Manila reported Thursday.Hidenobu Sobashima, Japan’s Charge d’Affaires ad interim, said the amount will fund the construction of Japan-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Friendship Hall and Training Center, the equipment supply for improvement of road network in ARMM, and the Mindanao Component of Phase 4 of the Personal Computers for Public Schools Project (PCPS4).
