San Beda suspends classes as 2 new flu cases reported

A STUDENT from the San Beda College (SBC) in Manila and a 4-year-old boy in Northeastern Mindanao are the country’s latest cases of A(H1N1) flu.The SBC confirmed its first positive case of the flu and suspended classes until June 28.The infected student is reportedly a male athlete who was staying in one of the campus’ dormitories. Another report said a Department of Health regional office confirmed the first case of A(H1N1) in the Caraga region, citing a 4-year-old boy who arrived in the country with his family from Hong Kong last week.

The boy exhibited flu-like symptoms and was brought to a hospital in Butuan City, where he was found positive for the A(H1N1) virus. He is now in Davao City and is confined in an undisclosed medical facility.
