The Rotary Club’s anti-drug literacy and awareness campaign 

To be forewarned is to be forearmed

The United Nations General Assembly in 1987 declared June 26 as International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. In the Philippines, a whole-day program is slated at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila on Friday to commemorate the occasion. Collaborating for this endeavor are the Dangerous Drugs Board chaired by former Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd, Seagulls Village (a rehabilitation community for victims of drug abuse), the Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, The Manila Times and the Rotary Club District 3830 with all its 71 club members.

Explaining the goal of their involvement in the project, Ed Castillo, president of the Rotary Club of Parañaque South District 3830 says, “It is a way of showing the commitment of the Rotary Club in achieving a drug-free Philippines.
