How our political parties have existed, survived and campaigned for the people’s vote for the right to run the government without a political, economic and social philosophy and without offering the voters a clear-cut platform of government was the subject of our editorial yesterday.

The political, economic and social philosophy is the bedrock of the party’s core beliefs and the reasons for its being. Party leaders and members subscribe to these core values. Voters who share these principles are expected to support that party.
