As some would describe it, the battle against
cancer is “like a long winter”—a harsh period of desolation
and pain. Breast cancer survivor Jojette Yuhico tells of her story
of passing through that dark season.
Yuhico first learned of her disease after
feeling a lump on her breast while taking a bath. A diagnosis later
confirmed that she has breast cancer. Yuhico underwent a radical
mastectomy—a medical procedure wherein her breasts were removed.
It saved her life, but it also left a scar that was too deep to
bear.
