PSE investor ID system

We support Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) President Francis Lim’s advocacy to require each stock-market investor to have a registered ID. His aim is to minimize and, hopefully, eliminate insider trading and other forms of manipulation altogether.

The ID he proposes will be uniform for everyone who buys and sells securities on the PSE. Whatever the investor does, or however many his or her transactions are during the day, he (or she) will have to be identified through his registered ID. This way the PSE people monitoring insider trading or any manipulation can easily track down the persons making stocks move suspiciously up or down.
