After ‘Five Years’

Sugar Hiccup back and in the flesh

Haunting, ethereal, and unforgettable, Sugar Hiccup returns. But they aren’t just going back. They are going further, farther and deeper. This time, they offer new songs with more soul, depth and meaning—music that touches a nerve, raises the hairs on your skin and makes you feel.

Best know for minimalist lyrics in imaginary languages, soaring vocal pyrotechnics and atmospheric arrangements, Sugar Hiccup has been responsible for indie rock classics such as “Five Years,” “Moden De,” “Bleed” and “Awa.” Since it first formed in 1994, Sugar Hiccup has won the Katha Music Awards, the Awit Awards and the NU Rock Awards. Not bad for a band that earned its cult following the hard way with upstart gigs at the old Club Dredd.
