For television and radio host Christine Bersola-Babao, her various advocacies—from literacy to the environment, from housing for low-income families to nutrition and food quality—are way beyond just lip service or public relations. For Babao, these are all personal commitments for very personal reasons.

Like many other media personalities, Christine and husband Julius Babao are advocates of Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Red Cross Philippines, Philippine National Red Cross, National Book Development Board, Shepherd of the Hills Orphanage, Qualibet Testing Laboratory and World Vision. But few, if any, give with a passion like she has.

He will always be remembered as an icon for community service. Filipino-Chinese businessman, philanthropist and community leader Co Tek Tai (also known as Ong Yong) passed away in his sleep on March 24 due to complications from kidney ailment. He was 87 years old.
