Velenzuela takes ‘Padyak’ second stage

IRISH Velenzuela and three other veterans made their presence felt in the Padyak Pinoy 2009 Tour of Champions on Saturday as they positioned themselves in the top 10 general individual classification after Stage 2, which saw the riders slice through the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

The 2006 Padyak Pinoy Rookie of the Year Valenzuela, a 22-year-old who was almost drafted by an Indonesian professional team in 2008, led a 10-man first group that finished the 210-kilometer out-and-back stage via Olongapo City in four hours, 52 minutes and 55 seconds.
