Unilever to pull out of RP on veto of zoning ordinance amendments

Unilever Philippines on Wednesday said it would not think twice about pulling out of the country should the Manila City government veto amendments to Ordinance 7177, which seeks to create zones for the medium and heavy industries in the city.

Unilever Philippines Vice President for Corporate Affairs Chito Macapagal said their last resort is to withdraw their investments, roughly P500 million apart from government and local taxes, if the Manila City Council would not pass the Amendatory Ordnance (A.O.) 7177.
