Unilever Philippines on Wednesday said it would not think twice
about pulling out of the country should the Manila City government
veto amendments to Ordinance 7177, which seeks to create zones for
the medium and heavy industries in the city.
Unilever Philippines Vice President for
Corporate Affairs Chito Macapagal said their last resort is to
withdraw their investments, roughly P500 million apart from
government and local taxes, if the Manila City Council would not
pass the Amendatory Ordnance (A.O.) 7177.
