The President signed in Lapu-Lapu City Tuesday the National Tourism Policy Act of 2009 (R.A. 9593). What the new law does is pave the way for the country’s tourism industry to become a major engine of growth in investment, employment, economic advancement and human and social development.

There is no doubt that in the most successful economies the tourist industry has been a great contributor to the surge in economic activity, household income and employment.
