‘Con-Ass’ officially dead

‘Cha-cha’ supporters pin hopes on HR 737

The opposition to Charter change, or “Cha-cha,” has spurred the sudden alliance of strange bedfellows.

Members of the minority bloc and a major administration ally in the House of Representatives on Tuesday walked out from the hearing of the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments after a motion to approve for plenary deliberations a proposal to convene Congress into a Constituent Assembly (Con-Ass) was upheld and voted upon.
