Growth seen to fall on weak govt spending

THE Philippine government is not spending enough to lift the economy
amid the worst global slowdown in decades, an official said.
“They [national government] are not doing
their job, sad to say, because they are wedded unfortunately to
the wrong notion that they need to demonstrate extreme fiscal
discipline in a situation where public sending is necessary,” the
source said.
