yet off the
hook – House panel chairman |

Malacañang may have spoken too
soon when it announced Monday that the government has been
vindicated by a report clearing former agriculture undersecretary
Jocelyn “Joc-Joc” Bolante of involvement in the fertilizer fund
scam. It was reported Monday that a House panel investigating the
issue is poised to submit its committee report indicating there was
no evidence pointing Bolante as the one behind the realignment of
the P728-million fertilizer fund intended for identified
beneficiaries in 2004.
But Palawan Rep. Abraham Mitra,
head of the House Committee on Agriculture and Food, junked the
reports that his panel had cleared Joc-Joc Bolante in the
controversial fertilizer fund scam.
