DOJ summons ‘Big 3’ oil firms

Gov. Garcia claims prices of oil products in Cebu higher than other parts of the country

THE Department of Justice (DoJ) has ordered top officials of the so-called “Big Three” oil companies to appear in its investigation and answer charges of oil price manipulation filed by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garica and five other businessmen.

The subpoena, signed by State Prosecutors Disodado Solidum Jr. and George Yarte, Jr., enjoined Petron Corp, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and Chevron Philippines Inc., their respective officers, members of the board of directors, chief operating officers, chief executive officers and finance officers, to appear before Energy Undersecretary Roy Kyamko on May 28 at 1:30 pm.
