De Venecia not yet off the hook 
in NBN-ZTE mess–Ombudsman

Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr.of Pangasinan still faces a separate probe by the ethics panel on his involvement in the NBN-ZTE scandal, the Office of the Ombudsman has declared after it became clear it has no jurisdiction over the administrative aspect of the complaint against the ousted House Speaker.

The Office of the Ombudsman has cleared de Venecia of criminal involvement in the NBN-ZTE mess; however, it acknowledged that the lawmaker’s peers in the House Ethics Committee may pursue investigation of the administrative issues raised against him.
