RP’s competitiveness falls |

Slide caused by poor infrastructure, labor market,
institutions

The Philippines’ ranking as a competitive economy fell 16 notches
over the last year because of poor scores in infrastructures,
institutions and labor market, according to the latest World
Economic Forum (WEF) report.
In its Global Competitiveness Index 2009-2010,
the forum reported that the Philippines ranked 87th with an index of
3.9 among 133 countries surveyed. The country placed 71st the
2008-2009 report.
