Bank lending growth slows to single digits amid crisis

BANK lending growth slowed to the single digits in July, as manufacturers and property firms scaled back their borrowings, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said.

In a statement, the BSP said growth eased to 8.7 percent from the 14.3-percent expansion in June. At end-July, total loans outstanding reached P1.930 trillion.
