House body urged to probe low turnout of OFW votes

A bill has been filed urging the House committees on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms, Foreign Affairs and Overseas Workers Affairs to investigate the reasons behind the low turnout of overseas Filipino voters during the 2004 and 2007 elections.

The House Resolution 1298 filed by Reps. Jonathan de la Cruz (party-list, Abakada-Guro) and Ferdi-nand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (Second District, Ilocos Norte) seeks to uncover the cause or causes of low participation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the 2004 and 2007 national elections.
