Naval Forces Southern Luzon has deployed a eight-man unit to help in the ongoing relief efforts for Bohol which was battered by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake last Tuesday.
Philippine Navy (PN) spokesperson Lt. Cmdr. Gregory Fabic said the team is composed of two officers, two drivers, two security and two radio operators.
He added their mission will focus on water support, hospital care, technical support (damage assessment) and psychological care.
One of the officers was deployed to the Team Albay, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region-5 contingent, to the Disaster Management Team now working to stabilize the situation in Bohol.
Aside from this, Fabic said that Naval Forces Southern Luzon has provided a water purifier, which is capable of producing 32,000 liters of potable water per hour, to the earthquake-devastated province. PNA
