In celebration of Navotas City’s 110th founding anniversary on January 16, giving an award to the best fisherfolk by Mayor John Rey Tiangco was one of the highlights.
According to Tiangco, the best fisherfolk awards given during Pangisdaan Festival were a concrete recognition and appreciation of the contribution and role of the recipients to the economy of Navotas City (Metro Manila).
Pangisdaan Festival was part of the anniversary celebration with the theme “Pag-ibig, Pamilya, Pagkakaisa para sa Payapa at Matatag na Navotas.”
Awarded were Oscar Acol from Barangay North Bay Boulevard South; Rolando Bambico Jr., Barangay San Roque; Oscar Barlan, Barangay Navotas West; Benjamin Buenaventura, Barangay Daang-hari; Rolando Casaje Jr., Barangay Tangos; Isagani Catiis, Barangay Sipac-Almacen; Guillerdela Cruz, Barangay Tanza; Romano Manzano, Barangay Tangos; and Evans Sarabia, Barangay Bagumbayan North.
