Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Carter-Williams will share his hoops skills with young Filipino cagers as the NBA 3X Philippines 2016 unfolds today at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.
“The people here are very warm. I really appreciate that. I just cannot wait and see the kids,” the six-foot-six Carter-Williams said on Thursday during a news conference at the Conrad Hotel in Pasay City.
The NBA 3X is now on its sixth year.
Carter-Williams will be present in the three-day event that features boys’ under 13, U16, U18 and open categories as well as girls’ U18 and open classes. An invitation-only Celebrity Division will be open to local artists.
“Being part of this event is a great opportunity to see the growth of the game internationally, and I look forward to working with these talented athletes,” added Carter-Williams, who was named the 2013-2014 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year and was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in that same year.
