NBI, BI clash over kidnap, extort raps

TWO agencies of the Department of Justice (DOJ) are clashing over a probe on the alleged illegal activities of Bureau of Immigration (BI) officials during the Christmas season.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has ordered immigration officials to file their explanation and submit documents in connection with the alleged kidnapping, extortion and robbery committed by immigration officers in a condominium in Makati City.

Being investigated by the NBI are immigration officers Steve A. Parcon, Ma. Irense Arsenia Bello, Faizal T. Macabuat, Eulalio D. Padua and Emir Anton A. Borlongan.

It was learned that a Mission Order had been issued for its subject Wang Dafeng,37, was dated December 16 and was valid for seven working days .

However, the MO was not served and was instead diverted to arrest two Chinese women, namely: Huang Lei, and Danni Lim.

Lim possessed a working visa and had been visiting friends in Makati. Lei, who was found to have an expired 59 day visa, was ordered deported.
