LUCENA CITY: Applicants for clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) can now register online for easier and faster acquisition of the document. They can do so, NBI-Lucena District Office chief Dominador Vilanueva 3rd said, by accessing www.nbi.gov.ph. Meanwhile, Villanueva said, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) whose NBI clearances have expired can secure new ones by going to the Philippine embassy or consulate in their host countries, having their biometrics or thumb marks taken there and sending them to NBI national office. The head office will then process the new applications for the clearances. Villanueva said the service is particularly helpful for OFWs who are not allowed to come home by their employers but must have their NBI clearances updated.
